Het album The Woman At The End Of The World (A Mulher Do Fim Do Mundo) van de 79-jarige Braziliaanse zangeres Elza Soares is gekozen tot beste album van 2016.
René van Peer recenseerde het album in augustus op MixedWorldMusic. Hij schreef: 'Op dit album lijkt ze de ideale en opwindende synthese gevonden te hebben tussen haar inmiddels verschoten samba’s en een nieuw geluid.'

Ton Maas schrijft in zijn recensie op MixedWorldMusic: 'Ruige gitaarklanken gaan de confrontatie aan met gespierde percussie. Itaala is Shishani’s behoedzame eerbetoon aan Namibië, het land van haar moeder, dat ze eigenlijk nog aan het ontdekken is.'
